Types of Illuminated Signs
Not all lit signs are the same. Here are the most common styles we build, each with a different look and feel.
Front-Lit Channel Letters
The most common illuminated sign on storefronts everywhere. Each letter is an aluminum shell with a translucent acrylic face. LEDs inside light up the front, putting your name in bright, bold color day and night.
Halo Letters (Back-Lit)
The letter face is solid metal and the LEDs point backward, creating a soft glow or “halo” around each letter. The effect is clean, subtle, and upscale. A popular choice for law offices, medical clinics, hotels, and anywhere that wants a refined look.
Front & Back Lit (Combo)
The face lights up for readability and a halo glows behind for that premium feel. Best of both worlds when you want maximum impact without choosing between the two.
Push-Through Acrylic
Acrylic letters pushed through a routed metal panel, protruding slightly from the surface. LEDs behind the panel backlight the letters so they glow while casting light around the edges. A striking 3D effect that stands out from standard channel letters.
Acrylic Reveal
Precision-machined solid acrylic letters with LED modules recessed into the back. The entire letter appears to glow from within while casting light behind it. Sleek, modern, and popular for corporate lobbies and building entrances.
LED Cabinet / Lightbox
An aluminum cabinet with a fully illuminated face panel displaying your logo and graphics. Great for businesses with detailed logos that don’t work as individual letters, and a common choice for franchise locations with specific brand standards.
LED Flex Neon
Flexible LED strips in silicone tubing that look just like traditional glass neon. All the vintage charm without the fragility, high voltage, or maintenance headaches. Runs cooler, lasts longer, and costs a fraction to operate. Popular for restaurants, cafes, and retail.
From Design to Installation
Every illuminated sign starts with a conversation about your business, your building, and what you want people to see. From there, we handle the design, material selection, fabrication, permitting, and installation.
In Victoria, illuminated signs need both a sign permit and an electrical permit. We take care of the paperwork so you don’t have to chase it down yourself.

Do I need a permit?
Yes. Illuminated signs in Victoria require a sign permit and a separate electrical permit. We handle the applications and coordinate with the electrician.

How long do LEDs last?
